Muhammad Ali was a prominent American professional boxer and activist born on January 17, 1942. Muhammad Ali, also known as The Greatest, was a notable sports figure of the twentieth Century and is widely recognized as the best ring heavyweight boxer. Ali held the Ring magazine heavyweight title from 1964 to 1970; from 1974 to 1978, he was the undisputed champion; from 1978 to 1979, he was the WBA and Ring heavyweight champion. In 1999, he was named Sportsman of the Century, and the BBC also awarded him the Sports Personality of the Century.

Ali was a descendent of Archer Alexander, a former slave who was chosen from the construction crew as the model of a freedman for the Emancipation Memorial and was the focus of abolitionist literature. Ali’s father was a signboard and billboard painter, and his mother, Odessa O’Grady Clay, was a domestic worker. Cassius Jr. went to Central High School in Louisville. He was dyslexic, which made him struggle with reading and writing at school and throughout his lifetime.

When Ali was at the age of 18, he won a gold medal in the light heavy-weight division at the 1960 Summer Olympics and went pro the following year. After 1961, after defeating Liston, Ali announced his conversion to Islam. At the age of 22, he achieved the world heavyweight championship by defeating Sonny Liston on February 25, 1964. During that year, he called his birth name “slave name” and officially changed his name to Muhammad Ali.

Muhammad Ali embodied America’s skill and aspiration. He was one of those who effectively put America on the map as the land of possibilities, and it is a sign of who he was that he became more well-known than Coca-Cola, Microsoft, and Mickey Mouse. In the early 1980s, Ali was first diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. Nonetheless, in 1985, he took part in the negotiations for the release of abducted Americans in Lebanon. Throughout his lifetime, Ali has received various distinctions and awards for his humanitarian endeavors.

how thoroughly deodorized it was. In December 2015, Ali had a message for Donald Trump, who has been pursuing an anti-Muslim campaign in the US Presidential nomination process. Ali has been married four times and has nine children. The professional boxer spent the rest of his life in Scottsdale, Arizona, with his fourth wife, Yolanda “Lonnie.” Muhammad Ali died on June 3, 2016, in Scottsdale, Arizona, at the age of 74. His death was verified by Bob Gunnell, a family representative.
